Collection: Dog Raincoats and Rain Jackets
Dog raincoats that pack into their own pocket
Every raincoat here folds down into the pocket on its own back. That one detail is why these get used. A coat that lives in a bag or a car door gets put on; a coat that lives in the hall closet gets left behind while you tell yourself the sky looks fine.
Both styles are built for small and medium dogs, sized from X-Small to X-Large, and both are cut to sit over a dog sweater without bunching up.
Waterproof dog coats for wet walks
A waterproof dog coat has one job: keep the rain off the back and the chest so a twenty-minute walk does not turn into a bath. These shells are lightweight, wipe clean, and dry fast, which matters more than thickness when the wet is coming sideways.
They are also made for dogs who already wear a harness. An opening at the back lets the leash clip straight onto the harness underneath, so nothing has to be threaded, unclipped, or wrestled with at the door.
Dog rain jackets with a hood and reflective trim
Both dog rain jackets here bring a hood and gray reflective piping along the hood and hem. If your walks happen before work or after the clocks change, the reflective trim is the part that earns its keep. Headlights catch it long before they catch a dark dog on a dark pavement.
The hood covers the head and ears without pressing them flat, which long-eared dogs tend to tolerate better than a snug cap.
Reversible, so one coat does two jobs
Each raincoat reverses to a plain side. The patterned side handles the school run and the photos. The solid side goes out in mud, salt, and whatever is on the pavement in February. Same coat, and the plain side is the one you stop worrying about.
You can read more about how we think about layers in our guide to dog sweaters.
Which size raincoat does your dog need?
Measure the chest at its widest point, right behind the front legs, then check the neck. That chest number decides the size. X-Small covers a 10 to 13 inch chest, Small 12 to 16, Medium 15 to 19, Large 18 to 23, and X-Large 22 to 27. A Chihuahua and a Labrador will never share a size, but a Beagle and a Shiba Inu usually can.
Our size guide has the full chart and how to take the measurements. Exchanges and returns are free if the first size misses.
Dog rain gear for fall and winter
Rain gear is not a spring purchase. Search interest for dog raincoats runs highest from October into December, and it climbs through September on the way there. The wet season here is the cold one, which is why the raincoat goes over a sweater rather than replacing it.
Layering is where a small dog stays comfortable: a sweater or a cotton snoodie underneath for warmth, the raincoat on top for the wet, and the neck and ears covered by the snood.
Made in the USA, sized for real dogs
Waggy Pups is a small American brand working out of Virginia. We design for the shapes people actually own, from Teacups to Labs, and we keep the care instructions simple because a raincoat that needs special handling is a raincoat nobody washes.
Free shipping over $35, free exchanges and returns, and every order ships from the United States. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one and let us swap it if it swims.
